If There Is Love, No Barriers!

If There Is Love, No Barriers!

That your eyes cannot see, that you cannot discover a thousand and one colors in nature; or have you ever thought that you cannot walk, run as you like, express your ideas, eat alone, listen to beautiful songs, or hear the voices of your loved ones?

Today, more than 1 billion disabled people live like this every day in the world.

Today is the "3 December International Day of Persons with Disabilities", which has been recognized as an international day by the United Nations since 1992.

Throughout the history of humanity, sometimes different ethnic groups, sometimes people with different colors, sometimes speaking a different language, and sometimes disabled people have been subjected to inhumane treatment. This crippled understanding that renders people and life worthless is the source of many problems we are experiencing now.

Some of us may have to live a life that we don't choose, that physically or mentally restricts them. But we must not forget that it is not our arms, eyes and ears that make us who we are; is our heart. We should know that the main obstacle is in the heart. All other obstacles can be overcome by cooperation.

The issue of disability is an important issue that concerns not only disabled individuals and their families, but also all segments of the society. It is our common responsibility to eliminate the obstacles in the hearts and minds by taking part in our disabled brothers and sisters who have to isolate themselves from almost every aspect of life. Facilitating the lives of people with disabilities, ensuring their integration with the society, leading them to be individuals with hope to the future and taking social responsibility will strengthen our feelings of solidarity and solidarity.

Being aware of the fact that we are all candidates for disabilities, we must raise the necessary sensitivity for them to become independent individuals who can also be productive and take part in all areas of life. Do not forget that just as a seed is entrusted to the soil, disabled individuals are also entrusted to society.

The goodwill, benevolence and empathy of a person reveal their true value. It is our social duty to understand the disabled people, to make life easier for them and to see them as a part of our social life, instead of pity on them. I wish a world where we can love and welcome each other with our lack and differences.

I congratulate December 3, International Day of Persons with Disabilities, with the hope that our sensitivity is not limited to a certain day or week and that this awareness is created in all segments of the society.

"The biggest obstacle in life is lovelessness."

"Hand in hand for a barrier-free world."
